Concord Mills Mall Discriminates against Furries , Muslims, and anyone that covers there hair with a hoodie

"‎Concord Mills now has a rule, stating that you can not wear anything that is not normal ..in there words you can't wear anything that is a costume...the issue with that is , well they get to decide what is considered normal and what is not. They Discriminate against anyone that follows a religion in which you must cover your hair. Why is this important to me you ask? Well they also have declared that anything furry related is also gang related. In other words , wearing a tail , hand paws , or kitty ears now equates you to being in a gang and you will removed from the premises if you are caught wearing them. BUT here is the part that really gets me I know for a fact that Spencer's and Hot Topic carry furry related items, like hats with ears on them, tails, and animal feet bedroom slippers. Apparently if you buy something there you can wear it out ... so what happens if you wear it the next time you go? Concord Mills really needs to rethink this rule, no doubt about this one , they ARE loosing business over it and besides how are little ladies with veiled hair and young people that wear tails any threat to anyone. We are all there Just to have fun and shop, and most Furries I know (including myself) have one goal in mind , to make others smile. If you want to help me and a few other people do something about this, go join this group https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=161614276474&v=wall and please share this information with everyone you know. ~ Thanks Ashley Harwood (a furry)"

This is a post I wrote and put up as my Facebook status earlier today. It still reins true and I am still looking for the document that states the rules that Concord mills has came up with. Last time I wore a tail there It was fine, I caused no trouble while I was there, I was polite to those around me , and I will tell you right now that I am in now way, shape, or form in a gang. I would like to be able to wear my furry accessories to the mall, I do not care if I can suit up fully while there, though I have friends that would like to. I just want to be able to wear my silly hats, paw shaped gloves, the occasional headband ..etc. i do not understand why this mall has decided to restrict the freedom of expression within its walls, it makes no sense to me and seems to serve no other purpose than to make people like me not want to shop there any more.

I hope that someone will actually read this, though I doubt anyone will.

All I want is to spread the word, hopefully get a few people honestly thinking about how wrong this is, and maybe start a chain reaction that will ultimately lead to being able to dress the way i want to while I shop.

This does not just effect me, what about the Muslim ladies that wish to follow there religious teachings and wear the cloths that they feel most comfortable in, it is unfair to kick them out of the mall, and really silly too. Its like kicking a Christian out of the mall because they are wearing a t-shirt with a cross on it or a fish symbol necklace. Its absolutely absurd not to mention it will also cause the mall to lose profits and customers.

I believe that if we allow concord mills to do this ..to take this inch of our freedom while we shop, then they will ultimately take a mile and the only people allowed in the mall will be middle to upper class white people that only wear blue jeans. And as a middle class white girl I still find that absurd and unfair. I have friends of almost every race, sexual orientation , and religion and though I say almost ..thats only because I have not met them all yet. What I really don't understand is that we are all people living on this one planet , so why can't we all just get along, this discrimination crap it pointless and will get us no where.

AND will someone please tell me how a cicada, a panda, and a mouse are related to a gang , PLEASE!!!
My Fursona  ( furry character that I like to costume as) is a Cicada, I have friends who's characters are various other animals, all of which are children friendly, we costume not only because it is fun , but also to make others smile. How can you not smile when you get a hug from scooby doo, or kangaroo, or a bit cute mouse, its impossible not too. So as to why Concord Mills mall in Concord NC thinks that a group of costumers are gang related , I have no idea. For crying out loud we have been planning on getting together and costuming for children in the hospital and in childrens homes, we are as far from gang related as you can get and as for the Muslim ladies being discriminated against, the ladies I see around the mall are petite and small and usually have children in tow or are out with there families , just like anyone else, the only "difference" being that they cover there hair, which is harmless. THEY ARE NOT IN A GANG, and there clothing is not a costume , that is what they wear every day. So I hope someone from concord mills reads this and opens there eyes, I really do.
